As previously, there are also the Tours d'Elegance road tours for classic cars to participate in a delightful drive around local areas with fellow classic car enthusiasts on Saturday the 10th February, the day before the show. Tours d'Elegance
Organised by the MG Car Club, this "open to all" event is one of the biggest classic driving events on the calendar. It will happen on Saturday 10th February 2024, the day before the Ellerslie Classic Car Show and for 2024 the destination will be NZ Warbirds - Ardmore Airfield.
There are 3 Tours to Choose From:
Each tour will be capped at 20 vehicles. Assembly for all tours is at the Ellerslie Racecourse car park from 10:00. Driver briefings at 10:20 for a 10:30 start. Each run will be 1-1.25 hours, all on sealed roads (roadworks dependent).

Things to do:
GROUP TOURS INFORMATION (Arrange your own booking)
Group Tours can be arranged on any day by prior arrangement for a minimum of 10 people. Please fill out the Visitors form attached separately. $15 per adult, $5 per school age child, under 5’s free. NZ Warbirds Association members are Free. To facilitate an efficient entry, please organise a single payment either by Credit/Debit Card, Cash or pre-depositing into our account (Westpac 03-1509-0105256-00). An invoice can be emailed for payment if required. A safety briefing sheet is attached. Please ensure all visitors read this. A full safety brief will still be given prior to entry; • Via Bus: Please stay seated, our Volunteer will board the bus and give you the safety brief. • Via Van/Car: Please assemble outside Hangar 2. If weather is inclement, then proceed inside the foyer.
Allow 60 - 90 minutes to view both hangars.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE • Two modern aircraft hangars. • 25 -30 incredible flying aircraft from WW1 to the modern jet era. • One of the largest displays of scale model aircraft in the world. • A WW1 Model-T Ambulance, two authentic WW2 Jeeps and a tug from an aircraft carrier. • Pictorial dioramas of NZ’s aerial conflicts in WW2. • A glimpse into wartime life on a pacific island.
WHAT WE DO • Offer rides in incredible aircraft, from biplanes of a bygone era to more modern fighters of WW2. • Commemorate the sacrifice our forefathers gave by performing flypasts at commemorative events. • Perform formation flypasts for your special event or service. • Perform air shows at Ardmore Airport for the public. • Display our aircraft at various shows around the country.
ENTRY TO THIS EVENT IS $5.00 PER CAR -just bring cash to the start. Prebooked cars will receive a goodie bag.
Entries will formally close on 24th January 2024 and your route instructions will be e-mailed to you during that week but you can still enter up to the day and collect your instructions at the start.
